Wash's Sweater

This is my second try to knit just the cable the goes down the center of the sweater. It is worsted weight wool . I think that it would work better in a slightly heavier Aran wool.

I have two problems. I haven't seen a picture that shows the entire sleeve. The pictures show enough that it looks like the cable's a bit different from the body center panel. The other problem is the yarn. I really can't allow myself to buy the yarn for the sweater right now.

I think the project's going to have to go on hold. Sigh.

Putting it on hold just gives you more time to contemplate it, right?

I dunno, for me sometimes just thinking about knitting and the possibilities is almost as good as putting needles to yarn... but I'm definitely a process knitter, not a product knitter.

I love Firefly, and Wash's sweater is a great piece to take inspiration from - its very Alice Starmore. I will wait patiently to see where you go with it. :)

I'd love to hear the details if you figure it out. I was just treating myself to a firefly marathon (I'm knitting so it's not wasting time right?) and I had the same thought of copying that sweater. I think it's also in "Out of Gas." Ah shucks I guess I'll have to rewatch my fav episode.

Kristy, it is also in Out of Gas. The best picture I saw of it is at the end of The Message, though. If you're on Ravelry, there's someone who is attempting a copy of the sweater there (group is Big Damn Knitters, thread The Real Firefly Knitting Challenge). I'll be interested in what she comes up with for the sleeves. I've not seen a good picture of a whole sleeve yet.
