Stop me before I shop some more

I wanted to cheer myself up after that Tour de Sock fail, so it meant yarn shopping.  Invictus had some more speckled/splattered yarn and I managed to get some this time.  I bought a skein of the spiral yarn so that the speckled skein wouldn't be lonesome being shipped across the country.

I watched the entire (so far) Gilmore Girl series while I was Tour de Sock-ing.  This resulted in a dangerous shopping situation.  Etsy is always showing you things it thinks you might like.  I'm not sure how it managed to figure out I'd like Gilmore Girls inspired yarn, but it did.  I managed not to buy any, but did favorite the shop for future reference.  The shop also had Doctor Who yarn.  I imagine temptation will call me back there eventually.

I looked at the non-yarn GG stuff that was on Etsy.  Since I have a Hep Alien tshirt and  Dragonfly and Luke's mugs, not much called out to me.  I only bought a keyring that says "rattlesnake hockey puck monkey monkey underpants".  That sounds really idiotic to most people, but it make me happy.

I officially give up on stage 3

Completing this would require reknitting most of the foot of this sock.  It would also require frogging a couple of tiers of the other sock which would come with many tears.  Pun, get it?  I'm tossing out both socks and all the remaining yarn.  It was that bad for me.

Stash Enhancement Saturday

The latest Tour de Sock started on Tuesday.  The pattern's so hard that I've only got a little over one sock done.  The foot of that one will need to be redone.  It's difficult enough that I had to finish the sock before I could see the mistake.  At least I'm not alone.  It looks like only about 40 people have finished so far.

So instead of getting frustrated with that ^&*I()$# pattern, I'm looking over my new goodies.  This is a Llamarama pouch:

It's a sturdy little woven cotton pouch with a llama on each side.  I was delighted to discover that buying this resulted in a donation to Education Without Borders.

The yarns I got from Knit Picks are Hawthorne, colorway Happy Valley:
Felici, colorway Dark Side:
and Stroll Handpaint, colorway Gumball:

Because I'm highly unlikely to get the next one

Who-llo Hat

I made this hat over 5 years ago.  I based it on the Andean Chullo Hat pattern from Knit Picks.
I posted the charts on my web site when I had one.  They disappeared when the web site also disappeared.  I recently discovered the broken link on my Ravelry page for this hat.  I redid the charts and am posting them here.

I'm planning on doing the hat again, mainly to do a different color than gold as the main color.  Finances were tight when I made the hat and I had to knit from stash.  When the new hat happens, I'll do a whole new post, explain things in detail, and put up new pictures and charts.  Hopefully I'll be able to fix them so they don't take up quite so much space.
