WIP Wednesday

I have been working on stuff.  I haven't been posting because of what turned out to be a broken tooth.  It came out yesterday and I'm recovering pretty well.  It's now something that will be okay after I throw some time and a bunch of money at it.  Nope, I don't know how I did it.  Yay for kind and helpful dental professionals.

  • Mystery knitalongs:

  • The tote with the mystery garden squares in it is now more full of completed squares than it is yarn:

Sock knitalong,  clues 1 and 2:

  • Love Your Library selection for September:

  • Arts and Crafts blanket:

  • The latest bad idea.  It's the Hoo*Bert shawl.  I bought some Vincent and the Doctor yarn because I couldn't face doing another thing in plain TARDIS blue.  The pattern's not showing up.  I can't decide whether or not to start over with a different yarn.

  • I had a bad time doing my August Love Your Library project.  Everything I tried had something wrong with it.  It wasn't all my fault.  One was a hat that called for aran weight yarn.  If I had used that, I could have used it for a cat bed.  I ended up using DK and it still came out big.  This whole place is littered with frogged yarn.

Now go see what  Tammy and others have been up to this week.

    Stash Enhancement Sunday

I meant to do this on Saturday, but time keeps getting away from me.  Actually I meant to post some of this stuff a week ago.  Oh, well.

I haven't bought any fiber in a while.  When I saw that Mad Color had a colorway called Fruity Oaty Bar, I had to have it:
It's something from the movie Serenity.  I'm obsessed with it to the point of having a Fruity Oaty Bar lunchbox for storing some knitting supplies.

Let's see what else is new in the stash.  Dark Side of the Moon:
It is obviously inspired by the cover of the Pink Floyd album by the same name.  Maybe not that obvious in the skein but the pictures of it knitted up looks like it.

I got my Mad Geek Tour yarn a couple of weeks ago and never posted it.  The colorway is Hell in High Heels:
Not exactly my favorite colors, but I'm sure something will come up for me to use it.

On the way are some skeins of Vincent and the Doctor for a new-to-me TARDIS shawl.  There's also something else I bought from somebody on ArtFire that will be a nice surprise when it arrives.  I've forgotten what it is.

    FO Friday

I have been working on things but just not getting back here to post.  Finished a couple of weeks ago were my Mad Color socks:
In the past week or so I finished the Come Along, Pond socks:
And I finished my Dandy Lion socks:
These were my favorite of the three.  The dandelions are not that hard to do and provide some entertainment.

I've been working on the Arts & Crafts blanket and am over the halfway point.  I started my Love Your Library project for August.  Actually, I started it twice and still am not happy with the color combinations.  It is going into hibernation while I start the Zolotoy mystery KAL tomorrow.

    Finished Object Friday

    Willow the WIP:
I found a little chair for her.  She hasn't finished any projects for me yet, but I can hope.

    Works in Progress

I have been working on stuff, but obviously not posting.  I can only get decent pictures in daylight.  My sleep/wake cycle is screwed up so I am not awake and coherent when I could be taking pictures of my WIPs.

    • Mystery Afghan:  it's up to date.  There are about 15 weeks to go.  I did the squares with the same weight of yarn and the same number of stitches.  If the patterns were all similar, this would result in squares all about the same size.  The patterns are all different.  I've been working on adding borders to the squares so they all come out to around 7.5" square.

    • Come Along Pond socks:  about 75% done.  Got distracted by squaring up the mystery squares.

    • Arts & Crafts blanket:  about 30% done.  I was alternating doing a blanket square with doing a pattern repeat on the Pond socks.  I'll probably go back to doing that when I finish the mystery squares.  I might get distracted again, though.

    • Zolotoy mystery socks are one possible distraction.  The first clue is 10 days away.  Here's the kit:
I picked the colors.  I wanted pink and the gray was the best match I could come up with.  I think everyone ended up with gold beads.  I don't like them with the yarn colors, even though the gray has gold Stellina in it.  I'm probably going to use some silvery metallic beads.  The stitch markers are very cute Russian dolls.

The other current distraction is a sock pattern called Lowenzahn (dandelion in English, lion's tooth in German).  The designer's offering the pattern in both languages. I'm going to try to make myself finish the Pond socks before I start these.

Go see what Tammy and friends have been up to, too.
