I've been on a bit of a rampage. I haven't bought a Phat Fiber box in awhile so I did. I was a little concerned when it said it was a mixed box. I wanted fluff to spin and not mini skeins. I didn't need to worry. It was almost all fluff:
Great, another fabulous photograph. Sorry about that. There were a bunch of stitch marker samples and some other goodies.
I have had the Shark Bite socks in my maybe queue for quite some time. When I discovered there was a follow up pair, I got both kits. This is the original, complete with cute shark stitch marker:
It came with a 100 yarn sample skein:
All came from Unplanned Peacock Studio.
This is the second kit, from Jimmy Beans Wool. I was a little bit bummed out when I saw that the main color, a limited edition colorway, had been sold out. Oh, well. It's still Lorna's Laces and that's a good thing.
The Yellow Submarine yarn is supposed to arrive on Monday. The National Parks yarn are still a week or two away. I'm still stalking Witch Candy to see if any more of that Statue of Liberty yarn will appear.
This is some funky handspun to be used for my Yarnia blanket:

Tour de Sock 2017 - Sock 2
The pattern is called Kanteletar, which is the name of a collection of Finnish folk poetry. I think it might actually mean "you mean there are people in other countries who are unable to knit a pair of colorwork socks in 8 hours?".
Now I am going to feed the cat and feed me.
ETA: I made it through the judging check, yay! I'm second on my team this time and 76th overall.

Stash Enhancement Saturday
The last shipment from Mad Color's Who-niverse theme:
The colorway is A Different Kind of Living. The bag from JessaLu is well made but I am so very tired of project bags that are light blue. I have at least a half-dozen of them.
This is Sgt.'s Score from Must Stash:
The name refers to the Beatles album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. This is the one where I want to get the whole set. They do a summer concert tour and this summer it is Beatlemania. The other two colors are inspired by Yellow Submarine (gorgeous light blue/yellow/white stripes with a solid yellow for heels toes and cuffs) and the White Album. Must Stash does self-striping where you get two identical skeins. Perfect for those who must have totally matching socks.
I was on Etsy and discovered that the yarn I wanted comes from someone who was on vacation. I started clicking and looking around and next thing you know, a couple of skeins are on the way from Knitted Wit. There's a whole bunch of yarns that are inspired by various National Parks. I was good. I have no intention of buying the whole series. I chose two from parks that I've actually visited, Acadia and Yellowstone.

Finished Object Friday
Shawlette is done:
I decided that I didn't want to work on the sweater that's my only current work in progress. I dug out a braid of wool and am spinning it. Hopefully it will result in enough yarn to add to my Yarnia project.

WIP Wednesday
I'm caught up on my Yarnia squares with this one:
I'm 7 stripes from being done with the flag shawlette.
Nothing new on the Harley sweater.
I'm trying to not start anything new. The next Yarnia pattern comes out Saturday-ish. The next Tour de Sock entry begins at 3 pm on Tuesday.
You know what happens when I'm not knitting anything? Stash enhancement. Only one skein is on the way so far. It is the first of three Beatles-themed yarns and I have to collect the whole set.

Tour de Sock 2017: Sock 1
Pattern is called Fins. I can't help but wonder if it is a little joke referring to the nationality of most of the first people to finish. (That last one wasn't meant as a pun. My brain just does that sometimes.)
I've slowed down since last year. Part of the problem was very splitty yarn and size 00 needles. Not a great combination, especially when knitting for time. For this round I am 77th out of a maximum of 1698 and 3rd of 7 on Team TARDIS - Doctors.
Speaking of time, welcome to the Whoniverse, Jodie Whittaker. With all the foreshadowing in the most recent season, I would've been shocked had a non-woman been named as the next Doctor. New showrunner, new Doctor, maybe new companions should make the next season big fun.

WIP Thursday
Is this the start of a new trend? I was all set to post yesterday when the camera wanted a recharge. Then I wanted one.
Yarnia blanket: One more square and I'm caught up and halfway done. These are a couple of the bonus squares that aren't actually part of the Yarnia game:
These are the other ones. I caught the cat asleep on them so they have the purr of approval:
I got the increases corrected on the Harley sweater and am working away onthe body:
Here's the flag shawlette so far:
The sweater and the shawlette are both boring so I've been alternating working on them. Knit knit knit with an occasional row of cable twists for the sweater. Knit knit knit with a couple of increases and a decrease on the shawlette. I'm trying to keep from anything complicated so that I'm free to jump on Tour de Sock in two days.

WIP Thursday
I was in the frog pond yesterday so I didn't get the post up in a timely fashion. No, not an actual pond with frogs in it. It was the taking knitting apart kind of frogging. Here's what happened with last week's things:
Tour de Sock #1: Swatch complete. I will be using size 00 needles. I am not happy about this, but the new carbon fiber needles may make it less unpleasant.
Zombie Kitty socks: done. That's all I have to say about them.
Yarnia blanket: caught up. No pictures of the new squares yet because they are sitting under the Zombie Kitty socks and I'm ignoring them. The socks, not the squares.
Harley sweater: I started working on it. It turned out that I was not where I thought I was in the pattern. This is what happens when something goes into hibernation suddenly and you don't write down where you were at. I spent more than a few hours frogging and counting. I'm about ready to restart. I think I did two sets of increases where I should've only done one. D'oh.
Protest is Patriotic shawlette: I did start it and maybe I'll take a picture next week. The one think I would recommend to anyone making it is to go stash diving for the blue. It doesn't take that much, maybe 30 or 40 yards.
