WIP Wednesday
Two more clues to go on the Bowties Are Cool mystery shawl:
I got a bunch done on the double knit scarf before I was distracted by something. It was probably something that I have since abandoned. Double knit looks complicated but it isn't really. You're kind of knitting two layers back to back.
The only knitting projects that have been tempting me require buying yarn. I'm trying not to do that since several replacements (roof, car, tooth, stove) are going to be necessary in the next couple of months. I still haven't got the additional floss needed for the cross stitch sampler I started a couple of months ago. I suspect my next project will be a cross-stitch pattern based on a Frank Lloyd Wright design. I've had the kit for years. I wonder if it is where I thought I put it?
Now it's off to see what Tammy and friends are working on.

WIP Wednesday
It's Wednesday and I actually have some picture of what I'm working on.
The Null Hypothesis Scarf. Jasmine is sulking because I have the pattern sitting at the spot where she wants to sit.
The Bowties Are Cool shawl. The pattern was an impulse buy. It's a mystery shawl and these are the first two clues:
Colors are darker in real life.
This is the yarn I've been spinning. The fiber came from Turtlepurl so I'm calling the yarn Turtle.
Okay, now go see what Tammy and friends have been up to.

Finished (almost) Friday
The things are actually finished. It's Friday that's not quite here.
I went through a phase where everything had to have something odd going on with it. Mostly it is with the construction but also yarn. I used a yarn blank to make these. If you are frightened by non-matching socks, avert your eyes!
I was concerned that knitting from a yarn blank would result in a more textured fabric. I was right. It was still fun to do. I knit part of these while watching a documentary about India and the colors seemed to go with it.
My hat made from some very soft and nice Noro has a lot of interesting angles:
It's a little big, even for me. I still like it.
The Broken Jack socks by General Hogbuffer were quite challenging. I'm hoping that the bumpy places will block out.
I'm on a strict no new yarn and no new pattern diet. That's how I ended up doing these Stitch Surfers:
They were fun to do. Next time I'll think harder on my color combinations and maybe make narrower changes while surfing.
No WIPs were posted this week because there wasn't much to show. I'm spinning some yarn. I also started the Null Hypothesis scarf. The pattern starts out questioning the sanity of anyone who would make a six foot long double knit scarf in a non-repeating pattern. I looked on Ravelry and there are more than a few of us crazy people.

Finished Object Friday
I've been finishing things but it has been too dark to take pictures of some of the them. Let's see what I've got at the moment.
These are one of the two pair I did based on last year's advent calendar socks.
These are the second pair based on this year's advent calendar socks.
These are the January socks from Yarn Yenta's knit from stash thing.
There's a hat and at least one pair of socks that need pictures. Not a whole lot of excitement, but stuff is getting done.
Now go see what other people have been up to this week.
